Born September 13, 1939 in Michigan USA, 7ft 2 inch giant Richard Kiel retains a cult following for his classic portrayal of the ultimate James Bond villain 'Jaws'. In addition to this iconic role, Kiel has performed in over 40 motion pictures and guest-starred in numerous renowned television series, as well as writing and producing. Married in 1974 to wife Diane, he is the father of four children, and a proud grandfather. His autobiography 'Making it BIG in the Movies', penned in 2002, makes compelling reading. Stil retaining an avid fanbase, his official site www.richardkiel.com gets hundreds of hits a day, and includes news of personal appearances and autographed memorabilia for sale.
Speaking in interview with www.commanderbond.net , Kiel talked enthusiastically of his sci-fi adventures in The Humanoid:
"We also enjoyed making L'Humanoid with Barbara Bach and Corinne Clery, as the film took us to Rome where we filmed at the famous Cinecitta Studio, and on to Israel where we filmed Moon Valley effects by the Red Sea, and with the help of matte shots placed a futuristic city around the Kennedy Memorial which I walk out of. In both countries we worked a five-day week and had a car and driver to take us sight seeing at the weekend. I had my wife Diane and my then two older children with me, and we brought over my mother and my sister's two girls so they could enjoy the experience with us."
